Dr. Lesley Baker has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Victoria. She completed her pre-doctoral residency training with Eastern Health in St. John’s, Newfoundland. She specializes in the treatment of children and youth, ages five to nineteen, with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. She has training and expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of anxiety (social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias, school anxiety, and separation anxiety), OCD, mood difficulties, depression, and behavioural challenges.
Dr. Baker’s approach is evidence-based, developmentally informed, and client-focused. She has extensive training and supervision in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and her primary therapeutic approach to treatment is cognitive behavioural. Other therapeutic approaches that she draws upon include play therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
Dr. Baker is in the process of applying to become a Registered Psychologist through the College of Psychologists of BC. As part of this process, my services are supervised by a registered psychologist, Dr. Lise McLewin, R. Psych.
