Terrance W. Parsons

Terrance has been offering psychotherapy for over 35 years to individuals, couples and families with a wide variety of concerns. He has extensive experience in working with depression, stress, relationship concerns, general anxiety, anger, sexual/emotional/ physical abuse, addictions and sexual therapy. His specialty is treating individuals and couples with PTSD, relationship conflict, trauma and mental health issues. Terrance has many years working with corporate, military, police, government, First Nations, among others. His clinical approach is eclectic and adaptable utilizing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Interpersonal, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Psychodynamic modality, Gottman Couples and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Mr. Parsons holds a Masters of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University with specialty in individuals, families and groups. He is registered to practice in the Province of British Columbia – BC College of Social Workers (#03232) and the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family (#2017069)


Prior to joining Vancouver Island Psychological Services Terrance has worked in a variety of settings including hospital, community clinics, EAP and most recently the Dept. of National Defense. Aside from his professional degrees and certifications he has received certification in Emotional Intelligence, Trauma Counselling, Executive Coaching, Insights Personality, Conflict Resolution and Mediation.
