Dr. Andrew Adams
Dr. Adams has over 10 years of clinical experience in England, working in both the National Health Service (NHS) and in private practice. He has been fully qualified as a registered Clinical Psychologist in England for seven years, and he works with a wide range of issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and anger management. He has also managed a children’s learning disability service and worked in perinatal and adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health, neuropsychology, and older adult mental health.
Dr. Adams has an active interest in adult mental health (including working with emergency services and military personnel), and he offers a range of treatment modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). He also uses other psychological modalities as appropriate to help tailor the therapeutic experience for the client if required.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr. Adams spent 14 years as a police officer with West Mercia Police in England, having a varied career working on shift (patrol) as a constable and Sergeant, and also within Criminal Investigations, Major Crimes, and Serious and Organized Crime as a Detective Constable and Detective Sergeant.
