Dr. Lydia Vallières
Dr. Vallières obtained her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Laval University, Quebec, Canada. Her primary clinical orientation is inspired by third wave Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which centers on emotion and experiential techniques. She is trained in Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mentalization-based therapy.
Dr. Vallières has interests and experience in the assessment and treatment of adults and adolescents with various problems and concerns (anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, identity and self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties, trauma, etc.). She also has expertise in the assessment and treatment of personality disorders. Dr. Vallières conducts both individual and group treatment. She has worked in both public health and private practice settings.
Dr. Vallières's authenticity, openness, warm and empathetic approach, and use of humor foster a climate of trust that allows clients to explore their challenges and make changes. She is bilingual in French and English and able to provide services in either language.
