Dr. Kara Turcotte

Dr. Turcotte is committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. She works collaboratively to develop an integrated approach to treatment that is tailored to the goals and interests of her clients. Dr. Turcotte conducts individual psychotherapy and psychological assessment with adults and her areas of clinical expertise include anxiety, depression, problems in interpersonal relationships, and coping with chronic health conditions. Her strengths-based and integrative approach to psychotherapy draws from a variety of theoretical perspectives with a focus on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Dr. Turcotte completed her undergraduate degree at York University and received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of British Columbia. She completed her clinical pre-doctoral residency at the London Clinical Psychology Consortium and has worked in a variety of settings, including medical inpatient units in hospitals, medical outpatient programs in hospitals, outpatient mental health services, university campuses, research settings, and private practices. In addition, Dr. Turcotte maintains an active program of research.

Dr. Turcotte is registered with the College of Psychologists of BC (Registration # 2771).
