Dr. Delwynne Windell

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Dr. Delwynne Windell passed away on July 16, 2022. He was a remarkable psychologist who made Vancouver Island Psychological Services a welcoming place to work and a caring and supportive place to get help.

“Following news of Dr. Windell’s passing, many spoke enthusiastically of the man they knew and admired. A common thread in tributes from his colleagues was to hear them speak of his kindness and wise counsel, his openness, his ever-present calmness, his dedication to his clients. His clients have permitted us to share some of their thoughts about what an important person Dr. Windell was in their lives; a confidante, a skilled professional who went above and beyond, and for some, a beacon of hope in their darkest hours. To quote one of his clients, “Many of us are still here today because of his knowledge, professionalism and compassion.” His clients felt heard and genuinely cared for. He was not only their therapist, but a trusted and dear friend.

Delwynne was all of this and so much more to so many. He really was the best of men.”
