Julie Lidstone holds a Master of Social Work degree in Clinical Practice from the University of Calgary. She is registered in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers. She has worked in private practice, hospital, and school settings.
Using attachment theory as a foundation, Julie works with adults, adolescents, and children struggling in relationships or with personal challenges. Areas of focus include marriage counselling, pre- and post- adoption counselling, and parent-child relationships.
Julie is experienced in using Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level III Trained). Julie is also trained in TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) and is passionate about using this model when working with families with challenges related to adoption or foster parenting. Circle of Security and Theraplay principles are also applied where necessary.
In addition to working as a therapist, Julie enjoys exploring Vancouver Island with her husband and children through hiking, cycling, and snowboarding.
