Memory & Aging

We are now able to provide specialized neuropsychological assessment and treatment services to those aged 60 and older who are experiencing changes in memory or other aspects of cognitive functioning.

VIPS Memory and Aging Clinic

The VIPS Aging and Memory Clinic provides focused neuropsychological assessments for adults aged 60 and older who may be experiencing concerns related to memory, thinking, attention, language, or other aspects of cognitive functioning. These assessments are designed to help clarify whether cognitive changes appear consistent with normal aging, stress or mental health factors, medical conditions, or possible neurocognitive disorders such as Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or dementia.

Our approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to the unique needs of older adults. The assessment process is streamlined to provide meaningful clinical information without the length and intensity of a full-day comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation.

Assessments typically include:

  • A detailed clinical interview reviewing cognitive, emotional, medical, and functional history
  • Standardized neurocognitive testing assessing areas such as memory, attention, language, processing speed, and executive functioning
  • Mental health screening, as mood, anxiety, stress, sleep, and other emotional factors can affect cognitive functioning
  • Review of relevant medical documentation when available
  • Optional collateral interview with a spouse, family member, or support person to better understand day-to-day functioning
  • A feedback appointment to review results, answer questions, and discuss recommendations
  • A concise written summary report outlining findings and recommendations

Common reasons for referral include:

  • Increasing forgetfulness or memory concerns
  • Difficulty finding words or following conversations
  • Changes in attention, organization, or problem-solving
  • Concerns regarding independence or daily functioning
  • Clarification regarding normal aging versus possible cognitive decline
  • Baseline cognitive assessment for future comparison

Appointments are typically completed in a half-day format to reduce fatigue and make the process more manageable for older adults.

All-Inclusive Fee: $1,500

The flat fee includes the clinical interview, testing, scoring, interpretation, written summary report, and feedback appointment, with no hidden or additional fees.
